About the Company

Klaussner Home Furnishings was founded in 1963, is the employer of nearly 2,000 employees, and is based out of Asheboro, NC. It has 10 manufacturing plants, a distribution facility, and a warehouse here, as well as showrooms in High Point, NC and Las Vegas, NV. Klaussner Home Furnishings is a dominant force in the furniture industry and they pride themselves on supplying 500 styles of furniture, 600 fabric/upholstery options, and 75 leather choices. Along with domestic partnerships, they have those overseas that promote/distribute their upholstery, reclining furniture, and décor/ furnishings for bedrooms, dining rooms, and custom orders, as well. They have been using Spreadsheet Server and Distribution Manager for over five years now.

Situation & Strategy

Case Study Strategy: 

Previously, data at Klaussner was constantly being rekeyed from program to program and from JD Edwards into spreadsheets. Due to this, they decided to go search for a more compatible system for adhoc reporting on the fly that was not static. They were looking for a cost-effective solution that did not require a tremendous amount of training. Klaussner knew they wanted software that would allow them to look deeper into data with more room for analysis that would not take multiple hours out of the work day. They found the end-user friendly Spreadsheet Server to be the perfect fit.
